FAQ

  • How can I make a reservation?

You just send us a tour inquiry with your travel dates, group size, and tour concept. Our reservation team will be in touch with you within 24 hours with the tour options and prices. Then we take your reservation in our system with a confirmation mail.

  • What is the price of the tour that I’d want to go on?

There are different prices for each tour concept depending on the tour inclusions and durations. Your group size also affects the tour price. For that reason, you must ask the quotations for each tour with your tour inquiry.

  • Who is leading our tours?

Who will be our tour guide? This is the most important question for many travelers before booking private tours. Phoenicia Travel creates bespoke tours in different concepts, for that reason you’ll know about your local expert tour guide before meeting him/her. We engage expert and friendly tour guides for each tour concept with high communication skills and fluency in English.

  • Do you require a deposit payment for the tour bookings?

We don’t ask for any payment for daily tours. You pay for your tour on-site in cash to your tour guide. But if you’d like to make a tour booking for a multiple-day round trip, we send you a tour contract to sign and ask 30% down payment during your reservation.

  • Do you take credit cards?

Yes, if you’d like to pay with your credit card, you can make the payment with your card. We must let our reservation team know about your payment type while your reservation. Credit card payments require %18 VAT as a government duty on top of the tour price.

  • What about the tour vehicle like?

All of our minivans have certain standards with the model and year of build. They are all new models of Mercedes Benz Sprinter (12 seats) or Vito minivans (4 seaters) with air conditioner systems and comfortable seats. Our minivans have a fridge inside for ready cold water during the tour. All vehicles are non-smoking minivans for your comfort and to offer fresh air inside.

  • How about the drivers?

They are all very experienced drivers and registered professional tourism drivers by the Turkish government. They are helpful, kind people and always smiling. :)

  • How do we meet the groups?

Your tour guide will be holding a board at the exit gate of the port with your name.

  • What is the difference between the "Cooking Experience" and the "Cooking Class" tours?

In our cooking experience tours, we meet with a local host, and they teach us how to prepare Turkish dishes, and we cook all together. This is not an academic cooking class, but a local Turkish host teaches you about our cuisine and shares his/her lifelong experiences about our cuisine and shares their own family recipes. However, in our cooking class tours, we meet with a chef and he/she gives us a lesson with hands-on experience.

  • What are the security measures taken on the "Cycling" tours?

What are the security measures taken on the cycling tours?

All our tours are safe and all the security measures are taken. All the cycling tours are accompanied by our support vehicle. Our vehicle follows behind the group and forms a safety lane by closing the right lane. Safety equipment such as helmets and gloves are distributed to the participants by our guides and it is mandatory to use them.

  • Will we be eating with the local family after preparing our own Turkish dishes on the "Cooking Experience" tours?

In our cooking experience tours, you will be welcomed by a local host and will be cooking the dishes together, but you will not be eating with a local family.

  • Do you have vegetarian or gluten-free Turkish dish options for your "Cooking Experience" or "Cooking Class" tours?

We do have, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free menus for our both cooking experience and cooking class tours. For more information, please contact us.

  • Can we try traditional local Turkish drinks on our tours?

Yes, sure. :) You can drink traditional Turkish Rakı, and our local beers and wines on all of our tours.

  • How physically demanding are the cycling tours?

Although our guides have chosen the easiest routes when drawing up their itineraries, in general, all bike tours and our other active travel tours (trekking, sea kayaking, SUP) require an average condition. There will be ups and downs in every round. It is important that our guests who will participate in our tour choose the tour they will go on according to the degree of difficulty, taking into account their general physical condition. You can get detailed information about our tours from our office.

  • What if I get a flat tire on the road during the cycling tour?

Your tour leader, who knows the bike mechanics, will step in and replace your bike with a spare bike. Tire repair or replacement is done during the first long break.
